Rick Santorum cannot be counted out just yet as the republican nominee for president. For the past two weeks, all eyes have been on front-runners Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, but Tuesday night turned the tables upside down. Hopeful candidate Santorum won all three primaries last night. Wins from Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri have placed Santorum back in the spotlight.

According to CNN, the Santorum campaign raised over $250,000 on Tuesday night alone. This gives him more money for campaign spending and adverting to shine light and raise awareness on his campaign.

Although this trifecta has given Santorum a pedestal to stand on, many political analysts question whether or not this is enough to surpass the enormous momentum that the Romney campaign has right now.

“This was a good night for Rick Santorum…Wish him the very best…but I expect to become our nominee with your help,” said Romney late Tuesday.

Santorum was on the defensive. He fought to express his message that people are mistaken when they think Romney would be the best contender in the fight to make the White House republican in 2012.

“And on those issues, healthcare, the environment, cap and trade, and on the Wall Street bailouts, Mitt Romney has the same positions as Barack Obama,” Santorum said in a press conference Tuesday night. “And in fact would not be the best person to get up and fight for your voices for freedom in America.”
