The 53rd Annual Grammys!
A quick look at the 53rd Annual Grammy awards.

Lady Gaga's performance at The Grammy's
The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards opened with a spectacular multi-artists tribute to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin. Ms. Franklin’s legendary music was interpreted by the beautiful voices from the talents of Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride, Yolanda Adams and from Florence & the Machoine, Florence Welsh. The ladies looked and sounded great.
The Grammy Awards this year had some wonderful performances. Lady Gaga performed her new single “Born This Way”. The appearance was outrageous, she was even carried on stage in a human sized egg. Nobody was surprised there, as Lady Gaga always has something up her sleeve!

Stars like Muse, Justin Beiber, Usher, Katy Perry and Bruno Mars were seen in attendance. Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger and Barbara Streisand, all legends in the music industry, graced the stage with their presence. Christina Aguilera had an “interesting” performance. Things were going well until she almost fell off the stage at the end of her number. All of the performances were fun to watch and entertaining, especially Will Smith’s son Jaden for being so young and rapping on stage with Bieber.
The performances were wonderful but the most important part is knowing the winners! There were many great nominees and everyone looked beautiful. It was a big shock when Arcade Fire won album of the year. Many people’s were saying how Lady Gaga should have won, or Eminem. “Need You Now” by Lady Antebellum won record of the year, Song of the year AND best country album.. This record was up against some amazing songs like, “Love the Way You Lie ” and “Empire state of mind.” Two grammy’s? Good for you Lady Antebellum! Best new artist went to Esperanza Spalding. Many people at home seemed surprised that Bieber didn’t win. Eminem’s album Recovery took Best Rap Album. Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster won Best Pop Vocal Album. In her speech she told the audience that she wanted to mainly thank Whitney Houston. Best Dance Recording went to Only Girl(In The World) by Rihanna. Finally, “Hey, Soul Sister” by Train won Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals.
The 53rd Annual Grammy’s were very entertaining and it is always exciting to see who wins each year. We can’t wait for next year!
