Bloomsburg University to Host NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championships

Bloomsburg University will serve as the host of the 2008 NCAA Division II field hockey championship final four on Friday, November 14 and Sunday, Nov. 16. The Huskies, 21-1 and the top seed from the South Region, will get a first round bye. Indiana University of Pennsylvania, 14-2, will host Shippensburg University in the South region first-round contest at 7 p.m. Eastern time, Saturday, November 8. The winner will advance to play Bloomsburg.

“Kumar” Campaigns for Obama at Homecoming

Main Street erupted with cheers as Kal Penn, a well known actor and supporter of Barack Obama, marched in the Homecoming Parade with University Democrats to rally support for his candidate. Kal Penn is an actor in the “Harold and Kumar” movies, “National Lampoon’s Van Wilder” and the popular television show “House.” He is also an Obama supporter and activist, sharing his enthusiasm with Bloomsburg University students this Homecoming.
