CHARLOTTE, N. C. – Eli Manning and his second string had an impressive 36-7 win over Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers. Manning had all the right players on the field Thursday night. Andre Brown ran for a career high 113 yards and two touchdowns.
Brown started in place of Ahmad Bradshaw, who was out this week due to a neck injury. Ramses Barden made his NFL debut with nine pass attempts and a career high of 138 yards.
Manning threw for 288 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions.
Even without three starting players, Manning and the Giants (2-1) took control of the game. The Giants had an impressive first half, scoring on their first four drives, making it a 20-0 lead at half-time.
Cam Newton battled throughout the game, but came up short. The Giant’s defense applied the pressure and forced three interceptions from Newton. The Panthers fell to 1-2 on the season.
